When you were transfigured on the mountain, O Christ our God, you showed your friends as much of your glory as they could bear. So, now, for us too, let this same eternal light shine forth, by the prayers of the Theotokos. O Giver of light, glory to you.

O come, let us who love to see and hear mysteries beyond human understanding, let us mystically gaze on Christ, shining in the brilliance of divine splendor. Let us make the Father's voice resound, telling all the world that He is His beloved Son. Let us rejoice, for on mount Tabor He transforms our weakness by His divine glory, by flooding our souls with Light.
You ascended Tabor with Peter, James and John, O Lord, to assure them of your resurrection, and the mountain became radiant as you stood there transfigured with light. Heaven's powers gazed in silent adoration, your friends were overcome with awe and wonder, and all creation trembled at your brilliant appearance, O Word of God and Lord of Glory. Amen.
